With the pickup truck body style as the most well-known type of car, It’s only natural that the market for electric pickups was bound to be discovered. RAM 1500 REV is a Stellantis version of the same. When Ford came out with their original version-it was the first of its kind, the F-150 Lightning, it was so popular that they stopped production. RAM is now going to take it on.
The initial ideas made the REV to be a sequel to Tesla’s Tesla Cybertruck. Contemporary, sleek, and different with regard to design. 2024 RAM 1500 REV Review
The original RAM mock-ups of the REV appeared to be a bit contemporary for the name. It was reminiscent of that of GMC’s Sierra EV, more than an average RAM model. GMC’s brand is portrayed as a powerful, slender, and buff character within the truck market. The concepts were too simple and futuristic. Nothing as authentic as 1500. The concepts were a bit sloppy, and the company mirrored all other brands of vehicles including a front light bar that does nothing other than the appearance.
It gives it the appearance of something straight from TRON which is not a mid-duty pickup as RAM plans to make it. The fascia is smooth, with flowing ebbs and flows on the “corner”. The car’s appearance is softened by this which allows it to lose its shape and look softer.
Its huge grille is reminiscent of the whale shark, rather than the pickup vehicle it’s designed to be. This doesn’t go over well with the owners of trucks who were doubtful of the electric vehicle market in its current state. The sharply angled cut-off on the idea renders the vehicle far too long and gives it the size of a tractor-trailer.
The A-pillar with the pinned-back a-pillar was not the most appealing for the truck. It made the vehicle appear as if it was a copy of EVs that were released. For us, it appeared similar to an earlier version of the Silverado EV, a truck that is trying to cover the market differently. the market. RAM seemed confused by the market it wanted to target and didn’t seem to fit well. This led to the redesign.
Just a few weeks and RAM released the new production model at the Super Bowl. The RAM REV model is very much like the regular 1500 that we’re familiar with on our roads, and there’s little or no difference. It appears that the company has made the decision to stay true to its niche and not attempt to be like the Jetsons.
The vehicle now appears like it is proportional to its real nature, with the cab not being as long as the neck of a giraffe. The front fascia appears more subdued, much like the first truck, removing the headlights’ wacky design and going for an elegant look. The grille seems to be following a straightforward track similar to the RAM Laramie.
There aren’t any side skirts with a duotone. They’ve changed with a more sophisticated option of painting matching. It’s more subtle and refined. The A-pillar has been straightened and lowered up to a greater angle that is more at an angle than the sleek version. The tiny mirrors, which we can guess were designed as cameras were replaced by RAM’s famous large tow-style mirrors that make clear that this was intended to be the company’s most iconic electric vehicle. The new model even has the RAMbox with a built-in compartment that is located on the side of the bed that could contain the materials needed for use on the job site.
2024 RAM 1500 REV Released
Although the REV is as new as it is, it’s still a bit late to the electric pickup truck celebration.
