2024 Nissan GT-R Review, Pricing, and Specs

After a brief hiatus in 2023, the 2024 Nissan GT-R is back as a carryover. The 2024 GT-R will get some upgrades over its predecessor. All details regarding the GT-R, including these and other details, will be discussed further below. The current-generation GT-R was launched in 2009 but it has been on sale since then. To keep up with its rivals, Nissan has made numerous updates to the vehicle throughout the years. The GT-R has experienced power improvements and interior and software upgrades since its conception. It will be its seventh major update in 2024.

The new front grille design for the GT-R will be an improvement. The new grille is familiar but modernized and sleeker. New aerodynamics were added to the GT-R’s GT-R to increase its downforce. Amazingly, Nissan was not required to increase the car’s drag coefficient.

The even-higher-performance GT-R NISMO gains aggressive new aerodynamics, predominantly a larger rear wing. NISMO’s front lip and canards were also redesigned. NISMO’s front differential has limited slip and is now available for the first time.

The R35 Nissan GT-R was an homage to the earlier GT-R models. Some design elements, such as the quad-shaped taillights, have been preserved in some way or another. There have been many significant redesigns of the R35 over the years. But this one is the most significant. The styling of the R35 was significantly updated in 2017. It is now more in line with other less exclusive Nissan models, particularly in the front-end section.

T-Spec, which is limited to 100 units, and a new NISMO Edition were the special editions unveiled at Tokyo Auto Show 2023. The T-Spec is a tribute to the Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R R M-Spec, and V-Spec II Nur models. The 2024 GT-R T-Spec features a new color code JW0 of the Millennium Jade paint. It appears less saturated than the 2022 R35 T-Spec.

The R34-inspired front grille design has a lot in common with the new one. A new front cover is included and LED lights are added to complement the retro design. Both the front and rear hoods have NACA ducts. This model is the only one with a carbon-fiber roof.

Features

The body kit features new side skirts as well as rear diffusers. The T-Spec will also benefit from the new rear-wing designs and a cleaner front end. This improves aerodynamics as well as reduces drag. The rear bumper is redesigned in R34 style. It features a horizontal line that runs through its middle. Similar to the 1999 GT-R. This design is not limited to the R34 GT-R. The rear wing of the 2024 GT-R T-Spec is more angular than ever, and it invokes R32 GT-R.

The 2024 Nissan GT-R T-Spec comes in eight colors, which are identical to the 2022 version. New colors are now available, Millennium Jade (and Midnight Purple). The 2024 NISMO GT-R is available in five colors. They are all identical to the GT-R NISMO last year. The R35 NISMO GT-R has a more track-oriented design than the T-Spec. It features more exposed carbon fiber and exterior trim that is darker.

Interior

The interior of the Nissan GT-R received a significant overhaul with a 2017 4BA refresh. Its same design was used for the model year 2024. This makes it more elegant and luxurious. The familiar 8-inch touchscreen is back, along with Apple CarPlay and a Bose 10-speaker stereo system and Apple CarPlay.

The most important interior upgrades are found in NISMO models. There are more Alcantara Inlays. But the main feature of the NISMO model is the carbon-fiber bucket seats with exposed frames. Nissan claims that these seats will improve upper and/or lower lateral support.

Engine

You won’t be shocked, despite the nostalgic appearance of the 2024 Nissan GT-R. The R35’s Lotus-designed chassis has had new suspension adjustments. It is now more comfortable and offers even better performance. The GT-R can accelerate into corners with the same ferocity as its Godzilla name.

A new exhaust system will be available for the 2024 Nissan GT-R. The Y-shaped section helps to distribute exhaust gases evenly and aids in extraction. The Y-shaped section also enhances the sound quality of the twin-turbo V-6. The engine output remains the same, but there is a noticeable difference in the GT-R model years 2017 and 2020. They both have the same 565 horsepower figures and 467 pound-feet (633Nm), of torque. The NISMO still uses the 3.8-liter VR38 DETT unit for 600 horsepower and 481 pounds (652 Nm).

Although the R35’s chassis and engine have been resilient, it is the gearbox that has seen this Japanese sports car age the most. The six-speed DCT, which was developed by BorgWarner and can shift in R mode in 0.15 seconds. It hasn’t been refined as much as other units over time.

2024 Nissan GT-R Price & Release Date

The 2024 Nissan GT-R’s starting price will be $117,000. Nissan considered the Porsche 911 Turbo when developing the R35. The R35 has been updated twice, but the starting price of the 2024 Nissan GT-R will be $117,000. Godzilla is a great value for money, especially considering that the 992 Turbo currently starts at $182,000. NISMO will sell for approximately $215,000. It is difficult to determine whether the additional cost of the track-oriented version is worth it. It is not important that we bid farewell to one of the most loved sports cars ever built.
