For years the legendary G-Wagen was considered to be the ultimate off-roader. The times have changed since the 21st century, and today the nameplate is more of an identity symbol rather as opposed to a desirable off-roader which is easy to determine, given the price tag. Naturally, the plans for this model are huge for the future too, and we’re all aware of the coming years will bring electrification. This is why we all wait to see what the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQG will look like as it begins production in serial.
The company has so far released a concept model, that appears to be ready for production. We are now eager to see the final model, which will maintain the essence of the initial model, but make it more futuristic and more suited to the current world of EVs.
2024 Mercedes-Benz EQG Redesign
One of the first thoughts that immediately comes to mind is how the Mercedes-Benz EQG will appear. If we can rely on the design that the German manufacturer showed with its 2021 concept, it’s evident that the all-electric G-Wagen will be able to keep its familiar boxy design. Additionally, all components are present and include a very similar front design that is further enhanced by a handful of futuristic features which are mostly focused on significant lighting groups.
It is also important to keep in your mind that the 2024 Mercedes-Benz-Benz EQG will adhere to its origins in terms of the chassis design. This means that we’re about to see an appropriate body-on-frame SUV equipped with a sturdy ladder frame. In terms of suspension configuration the front axle should be equipped with a sophisticated multi-link independent setup, and the rear axle is likely to be a bit more rigid. This combination will provide the perfect balance of off-road comfort and luxury.
For interior design, 2024’s Mercedes-Benz EQG will not adhere to the most recent trends in the automobile sector and provide a minimalist layout that includes a large central screen. Instead, we’ll have a standard dashboard like other Mercedes Benz models, but with the same features that are characteristic of the present G-Class. Naturally, the entire design will be highlighted by the latest technology features.
In terms of seating arrangement, it’s clear that it will be an SUV with two rows of seating because the overall proportions are likely to be the same. The battery will likely be located below the floor, which means the space for passengers and the cargo area shouldn’t be diminished.
According to officials that 2024 will be the year the Mercedes-Benz EQG will come with quite a serious set-up with four electric motors. Each motor will have a wheel. That is expected to provide excellent off-road capability. However, the power numbers are not yet known.
Concerning batteries, several sources claim the same 108-kWh battery that is available from EQS but we’d like to see something bigger which will ensure adequate autonomy. Apart from a long performance, we look forward to the most advanced battery technology with 350kW of charging power which will ensure that an 80 percent battery is fully charged in 30 minutes.
2024 Mercedes-Benz EQG Release Date and Price
According to the latest reports, the 2024’s Mercedes-Benz EQG will arrive sometime within the next year. Specifics about the price are currently unknown, however, we are in certain that this model will be priced higher than the gasoline-powered G-Class.
