The Korean carmaker was among the first to develop advanced battery technologies. There are many EVs already in the range, and more are on the way. The 2024 Kia EV9 is one of these EVs, and it is expected to be available sometime in the next 12 months. This is the company’s brand-new electric car. We are about to see a large, three-row SUV that will surpass everything else in the company’s current lineup.

The 2021 concept should heavily influence the design of the 2024 Kia EV9. This is primarily about the exterior design and overall approach. The company will also implement the most recent advances in battery technology. This will allow for super-fast charging, respectable range, and strong performance. According to recent reports, the 2024 Kia Ev9 will be much cheaper than similar-sized electric SUVs. This should make it a major selling point.
2024 Kia EV9 Review
The base design characteristics of the 2024 Kia EV9 include a three-row SUV. The 2021 concept was a futuristic and functional design. We expect that the inspiration for the 2024 Kia EV9 will come from that. The vehicle will be able to ride on the Electric Global Modular Platform, (E-GMP), which already supports the sporty EV6 model.
The previous concept featured an SUV with a similar exterior design to the Telluride. Although the silhouette is similar, the EV9 has a different look with futuristic details. This is especially evident at the front and back ends where you can see a lot from the EV6, particularly in areas like the grille, taillights, etc.
Production versions should have similar dimensions to the concept. They will be 122 inches in wheelbase and 194 inches overall lengths. 70 inches high and 81 inches wide.
Interior
We expect a slightly different interior design in the final product. While the concept featured a futuristic design, the 2024 Kia EV9 will have a more traditional approach to interior design. We expect to see a standard EV dashboard. It will have a simple design and a large screen that replaces most physical controls. The SUV will have three rows of seating. It should have a wheelbase of 122 inches, so it can easily accommodate 8 people. The space and comfort of the first two rows should be ample, with the third row being functional.
Drivetrain and Battery
The 2024 Kia E-GMP platform will allow for fast charging speeds of up to 350 kW. This means that you can charge your vehicle with a DC unit very quickly. According to some sources, this charging method can charge up to 80% of the battery within 20-30 minutes. 100 miles would be added every 10 mins.
However, officials remain silent about the numbers. We believe that the Korean manufacturer will have a battery capacity that is comparable to American. This would mean that the battery can travel more than 300 miles. We believe that both single-motor and dual-motor drivetrains are possible. According to some sources, the fastest variants can reach 60 in under 5 seconds.
Range, Charging, & Battery Life
The EV9 claims a 300-mile range and can also charge at 350-kilowatt fast charging stations. Although we don’t know if the standard battery pack or a larger option will be offered, we’ll find out closer to the SUV’s release date.
Exterior and Colors
At this stage, there is good news. The latest spy photos show that the Kia EV9 will not depart from the bold Concept EV9 design language with its Opposites Unified exterior styling. The coach-style rear doors will not be retained but the production model retains a sleek, modern appearance with strong, blocky lines, a square front, and an elaborate lighting signature. The Concept EV9 features Kia’s familiar Tiger Face digitalized with a star cloud pattern lighting display. It also eschews a traditional grille. We’ll see if it’s retained in the production model. It has flared fenders and bold wheel arches on the sides like the concept.
Although the wheel designs on the prototypes of the Kia EV9 SUV are slightly different than the machined ones, they should be identical in size at 22 inches for the upper trims. The concept had retractable roof rails. These may be removed for production vehicles. The back features a triangular D pillar design and a taillight cluster that extends in three directions.

Unseen recently was a sportier version of the 2024 Kia EV9 GT, with black wheels and a lower stance. Concept EV9 shows us what paint colors we can expect from the Kia EV9 with an immersive shade of blue. The EV6 colors include Snow White Pearl and Interstellar Gray.
Dimensions
Although the dimensions of the production Kia EV9 are not known, they will likely be similar to the Concept EV9. This means that the length is 194 inches, the width is 80.9 inches and the height is 70.5 inches. The wheelbase measures 122 inches. It’s a bit shorter than the Telluride, but it’s both longer and wider. The use of an electric skateboard chassis will result in a huge interior.
Although the exact weight of this Kia model is unknown, it will likely be the largest. The Telluride already weighs more than 4,500 lbs in its heaviest form, so the 2024 EV9 will likely be over 5,000 lbs.
2024 Kia EV9 Price & Release Date
As the price of the 2024 Kia EV9 has not yet been disclosed, this information is speculative. However, we can make some calculated guesses. The EV9 will have a larger and more luxurious interior than the EV6 and Telluride. The EV6 is $41,400 and the EV9 starts at $51,400. We expect the EV9 will start at $50,000. A hot EV9 GT might be more expensive than the EV6 and could cost as much as $70,000 MSRP.

The USA will have mid-sized electric SUVs, with premium badges such as the Cadillac Lyriq or BMW iX on their noses, but the EV9’s dimensions – based at least on the Concept EV9 – will cover both the full- and mid-sized segments. The EV9 should also be a viable alternative to the Mercedes EQS SUV, BMW iX7, and even the base version of the Hummer EV.
