It is difficult since taxpayer money is rarely used on vehicles that are major gas guzzlers. GM is pushing for the zero-emission version. This could make a difference in the near- and mid-term. We don’t all have the time or ability to wait years for a Hummer E-V, but we do not want to miss our chance at a Hummer E-V in Police Interceptor livery.
2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV Pricing
There are impatient people such as Aksyonov Nikia from Behance. He already has the virtual Police Interceptor version 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV. It’s not surprising that this route was chosen by the Saint Petersburg, Russia-based virtual artist. He did it with the 2022 GMC Hummer EV pickup trucks (as well as many other models like the A90 Toyota GR Supra or the C8 Chevrolet Corvette).
The Police Interceptor modifications to the truck’s SUV version seem more natural than those made to the truck version. Upgrades include a stronger suspension system, heavy-duty wheels, and the classic black and white graphics package that includes red/blue lighting. The dimensions of the 2024 SUV are smaller than those of its bed-equipped sibling. It is therefore more suitable for urban environments. The truck’s Edition 1 has a maximum of 830 horsepower, but not the 1000 hp GM promised. It is unlikely that either one of them will take up official duties. It’s not small. The SUV Edition 1 will be priced at $105,595 and the Edition 1 truck Edition 1 at $112,595 respectively.
What’s new for 2024?
The new SUV version will follow in the footsteps of the Hummer EV pickup’s tire marks and will begin production in about two years. It will have a different body style, with a shorter wheelbase, when it reaches GMC dealerships in 2023.
EV Motor, Power, and Performance
The SUV version of the Hummer EV pickup truck will feature two or three electric motors. This is also hinted at by the superscript in the model names. The EV2X and EV2X are powered by a dual-motor system that produces 625 horsepower and 7400 pound-feet, according to GM. The EV3X, Edition 1, and EV3X have a trio motor setup with 830 ponies each and 11,500 pound-feet respectively. We’ve already explained the reason these incredible torque claims are false. Actual maximum torque ratings will range from 1000 to 1100 pound-feet. The fastest Hummer EV SUV is also claimed to be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. This is a remarkable speed for a heavy machine. The SUV’s wheelbase is shorter than the pickup truck (126.7 inches versus 135.6), making it easier to maneuver in parking and on trails. The SUV will also inherit the best off-road features of the truck version.
This includes four-wheel steering with CrabWalk and adjustable air suspension with Extract mode which can raise it to 6 inches. GMC’s rear gate also houses a spare tire of full size. This makes GMC a very attractive choice. There’s also an Extreme Off-Road package available that adds extra hardware. It includes 18-inch wheels with 35-inch all-terrain tires, extra underbody protection, and low-mounted cameras to improve visibility while maneuvering. Also, locking front differentials, rear motors that can electronically mimic locked diffs, and enhanced axles with heavy-duty components.
Battery Life, Charging, & Range
Every Hummer can take advantage of GM’s new Ultium-based battery technology. This makes it much more environmentally friendly than the gas-guzzling H2 or H2 SUT. The base EV2 model comes with a standard 400-volt electric system. However, every trim can also get the 800-volt system. GM already stated that the Hummer EV’s 200.0-kWh battery pack will be available, but we don’t yet know its size or usable capacity. The electrified SUV boasts a range of more than 300 miles and fast charging speeds of up to 300 kW.
Interior, Comfort, & Cargo
The interior design of the Hummer EV SUV’s interior is both rugged and sci-fi. The dashboard is three-dimensional and features both horizontal and vertical air vents. There are also two large displays with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster. The Hummer’s hard buttons and switchgear are not designed to frustrate but rather enhance the appearance of the vehicle. It has a thick, T-shaped shifter as well as a rotary drive mode selector at the center console. The top-of-the-line Edition 1’s materials look extremely luxurious, with leather-stitched surfaces as well as distinct bronze accents. The removable roof panels are another distinctive feature of the Hummer’s cabin. The Infinity Roof is a removable roof system that allows you to remove the four transparent Sky Panels as well as the I-bar from the front seat passengers. The SUV Hummer offers 82 cubic feet of cargo storage with the rear seat folded.
Infotainment & Connectivity
The Hummer’s cutting-edge electric technology will be enhanced by a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment screen and many connectivity options.
