The Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid 2024 is in the works. The smaller Ford Bronco Sport will be powered by hybrid power, unlike the larger Ford Bronco. The compact crossover has a rugged appearance, as you can see from spy photos and teaser images. According to reports, the model will be available for sale in 2023.

Powertrain
The hybrid powertrain will be featured in the new crossover. The 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid is likely to have the same engine as Ford Escape. This plug-in hybrid powertrain provides great power and fuel efficiency. Some reports suggest that the Ford Maverick pickup has the same setup. The Ford C2 architecture is used in all three models, which makes them reasonable. The Maverick compact pickup is powered by a 2.5-liter Atkinson four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The output is 191 horsepower and 155 pounds-feet of torque. The Escape crossover uses a similar system but has 220 horsepower. It also has 20 miles of all-electric range.
Media speculation is still ongoing, so you can borrow a hybrid system from either the Ford Explorer SUV or Ford F-150 truck. We are not convinced that the smaller Bronco Sport Hybrid will have a 3.0-liter V6 engine as well as a 10-speed auto transmission. The new Bronco Sport will undoubtedly gain performance upgrades, regardless of the circumstances. Ford has already published the owner’s manual for the hybrid powertrain.
Interior
We recently saw the first spy photos of the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid crossover. The small, rugged-looking model may be a surprise. The charging port is not visible in the spy photos, as it is likely hidden beneath the camouflage. It could, however, be a prototype equipped with a traditional combustion engine.
It is most likely a hybrid as the photos show orange high-voltage cables. We don’t know whether the smaller Bronco Sport Hybrid will have different trim levels. However, we do know that it will be available in a variety of trim levels. This is true for exterior colors as well as interior details such as size and displays.
Ford Bronco Hybrid
For almost two years, the media have been wondering what will be under the hood of this hybrid SUV. It is reasonable to expect that the Ford Bronco Hybrid will share electrical hardware with Explorer and F-150 hybrids.
Ford Bronco Hybrid was to feature a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 engine, an electric motor, and a 10-speed modular transmission. The Ford Bronco Hybrid was expected to have a healthy system output of 450 horsepower when it is combined with the F-150’s 47-hp electric motor.
The owner’s manual suggests a plug-in hybrid powertrain for the electrified Bronco. Customers could use the EV mode to drive a full day without emitting any emissions. Ford could offer the Bronco plug-in hybrid with the EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine of 2.3-liter and the 35-kW motor from the F-150 Powerboost fully-hybrid. The system power could reach close to 350 horsepower, while the battery pack might allow for a practical range of around 40 miles. Ford is confident that the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, America’s most popular PHEV, will continue to be so (as of September 30, 2022).
Ford Bronco facelift
The Ford Bronco is just two years old and discussions have begun about its mid-life refresh. Ford Authority reported that they had moved the Bronco’s facelift launch to 2024 in an updated report on October 12, 2021. The new SUV could get the hybrid/plug-in hybrid variant. It is expected that it will be available for purchase by 2023.
Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid
According to reports, the Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid will use the Ford Escape Hybrid powertrain. This makes sense considering that the Bronco is a softer vehicle and sits on the Escape’s monocoque platform. The system features a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle gas engine and an eCVT.
Ford offers the Escape Hybrid as an FWD or AWD model, with a combined power output of 192 horsepower. The Ford Escape Plug-in Hybrid is also available with a 2.5-liter Atkinson cycle gas engine and an eCVT, but it’s only available in FWD. The Escape’s plug-in hybrid version has 210 horsepower.
The Bronco Sport and found that it achieved a fuel economy of 23 mpg mixed suburban driving. This is almost equal to the EPA rating (21 mpg city/26 mpg highway/23 mpg Combined). Motor Authority stated that the Escape’s hybrid powertrain would significantly improve efficiency. Ford anticipates that the 2023 Escape Hybrid will achieve an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency of 41 mpg in FWD and 40 mpg in AWD.
Expected trims
There should be a few variations of the Ford Bronco Hybrid or Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid, but they will all include Badlands. Wildtrak is the only option for the former. Ford reported that it had received more than 190,000. Reservations for the Bronco in 2021. About 26% of those reservations were for the Wildtrak trim. This trim is only available to frame SUVs, according to Autoblog on October 23, 2020. Around 20% of all orders were placed in the Badlands trim. The rest were placed in other trims.
2024 Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid Price & Release Date
Soon, we will have more information about the 2024 Ford Bronco Sport Hybrid. Ford’s Hermosillo Assembly Plant will finish production of the hybrid model later in the year. Sales will start next summer, most likely. Although the price has not been officially announced, experts predict that it will be around $27,500. The hybrid version will be more expensive at $30k.
