2024 Dodge Charger Electric : What We Know So Far

It is obvious that electrification is a trend in everything. Even the most iconic muscle car, the Dodge Charger, has electric motors. The next-generation Dodge Charger is coming soon. In a year or so, the all-new Dodge Charger Electric will be available. It will be all-electric, but not just another “soulless”, EV. The company has developed some unique technical solutions and features.

While the general layout of an EV will remain the same, there will be many design options that are very similar to the previous generation. It will not only look the same as its predecessor but also offer the same driving pleasure. What is the best way to do that with an EV? We can’t wait to see it.

2024 Dodge Charger Electric Redesign

We have already stated that the Dodge Charger Electric 2024 will be a classic muscle car, and so there are high expectations. The new platform will be one of the most significant changes. It will be dedicated to electric cars and, based on what we know so far it will comply with industry standards for battery technology and similar items.

Exterior

The exterior design of the production version will be a direct inspiration from the Daytona SRT concept. The Charger’s 2-door coupe version of that model was shown, which suggests it may be returning to its roots in terms the body design. The exterior design of this concept is a combination of futuristic and retro design solutions that we found to be quite impressive. It is certainly one of our favorite cars.

Interior

However, we cannot speculate on the interior because the concept did not show any details. It’s difficult to predict the details at this stage, but we’re pretty certain that the company will not necessarily follow the latest trends within the industry of EVs. Dashboards in these cases are very simple. We expect to see something original and with lots of retro vibes.

We expect a standard 2+2 seating arrangement. If we take into account that the car is well-known for its spacious second row, this model should not be any different.

Drivetrain & Battery

According to what we know, the Dodge Charger Electric 2024 will come in at least three output options. The base model, 340, will have a maximum output of 455 horsepower. The mid-range model, known as 440, will produce a maximum output of around 455 horsepower. We also expect to see the SRT badge on a high-performance version. We don’t know the details, but we believe that Dodge engineers will offer more power than the Hellcat.

We don’t know much about the battery’s capacity. The company claims that the maximum range is approximately 500 miles. This sounds incredible. We know that the new model will be powered by 800-volt battery technology. This makes it competitive in terms of charging speed, among other factors.

The transition to all-electric cars seems easier for traditional carmakers than it does for Dodge. Models like the Charger and Challenger have a rich history and a large following of car enthusiasts who are hardly ready to accept that ICE cars are coming to an end. Dodge engineers want to maintain the same driving experience. They have decided to incorporate two of the most essential components of ICE cars into their 2024 Dodge Charger Electric. These are reliable and efficient multi-speed transmissions.

Dodge engineers used emulators to create a futuristic soundscape. They don’t replicate the sound of internal-combustion engine engines but instead offer something more futuristic. We love the sound. The sound is not the only thing we like. There is also the thrill of shifting gears under acceleration. Therefore, the Charger EV will have multiple gears. This is quite unusual for electric cars which typically only offer one speed. Dodge management believes that these two elements will allow it to attract a large number of purists to the all-electric version.

2024 Dodge Charger Electric Price & Release Date

It’s not known when the 2024 Dodge Charger Electric will arrive, but sources suggest that it could be in late 2023 or early 2024. Base models may cost as much as 60.000 dollars, according to our estimates.
