2024 BMW X5 M60i Preview

The 2024 BMW X5 made its world debut in February, before making its public debut earlier in the month at the Amelia Concours d’Elegance. The M Performance version, now renamed M60i marks the SUV’s debut at an auto show in Serbia this week at the 2023 Belgrade Motor Show. We get a tour of the V8-powered luxury barge in a high-spec configuration in this new video from BMW’s booth.

2024 BMW X5 M60i Redesign

The 2024 BMW X5 M60i is available in Tanzanite Blue II Metallic. It rides on the biggest wheels for the M Performance model, the 2024 BMW X5 M60i. The 22-inch set features a V-spoke design and a two-tone finish. Red brake calipers are also available in blue. Apart from obvious design changes like slimmer headlights and updated taillights with an “X” motif and new bumpers, the kidney grille now has an M badge.

The X5 M60i’s interior features one of the best leather upholstery options for a mid-size luxury SUV. You can choose the Tartufo specification extended Merino leather or the Piano Black trim as an Individual upgrade. The M Performance version’s ambient light bar displays the M letter proudly on the passenger side.

The M60i, as with all X5 versions with Life Cycle Impulse applied has switched to BMW’s iDrive 8 The M60i’s dashboard has been redesigned to accommodate the curved glass. It now features a 12.3-inch digital driver display and a 14.9-inch touchscreen. You’ll see a simplified console and a smaller gear selector.

Engine

The LCI’s most important change is the twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 underneath the hood. The mild-hybrid engine still has 523 horsepower and 553 pounds-feet (553 Newton-meters) torque, but it’s more efficient thanks to the 48V technology. The X5 M60i can reach 62 mph (100 km/h), in 4.3 seconds, or 4.2 seconds (0-60 mph) sprint.

2024 BMW X5 M60i Production

The production of all 2024 BMW X5 models is expected to start in April at the Spartanburg plant in South Carolina.
